Minimize Downtime and Eliminate Failures

Modern power distribution networks are incredibly complex. The failure of overhead power cables can affect entire networks, resulting in costly downtime for utilities and consumers alike. Meanwhile, underground power distribution offers several advantages over overhead power lines. These include greater safety from fire hazards, longer cable life thanks to shielding from external factors, and aesthetic appeal for urban areas.

Powering the Underground Network

Chardon connectors are utilized in key equipment such as padmounted switchgears, transformers, and underground distribution vaults. They play essential roles in various configurations: enabling junctions and splices to connect, branch, and splice seamlessly; serving as end terminations that link underground cables to overhead lines or equipment; facilitating service entrances to provide safe power entry at building interfaces; and offering quick, reliable connections in temporary scenarios like construction sites. Our range includes screened separable loadbreak & deadbreak T-body connectors, elbows, and bushings, ensuring safe power transfer and enhanced system reliability.

Prioritizing Protection

Chardon’s accessories are designed not only to connect but also to protect underground distribution networks. In IEEE/ANSI Loadbreak systems, for instance, our Loadbreak Fuse Elbow can act as a standalone for inline protection or pair with another cable using a feed-thru insert, offering fuse protection without necessitating an additional bushing well in the transformer or equipment. The Loadbreak Grounding Elbow provides a safeguard, ensuring systems are grounded and aiding in fault protection. Meanwhile, the Elbow Arrester offers excellent protection against voltage surges.
