The Chardon Group’s Engineering Department has many years of design and development experience working with (US) Fortune 500 companies. We are familiar with the high standards demanded by customers in the United States and other developed countries. Up front planning and design – both for the product and for tooling – are critical elements in being able to manufacture a low cost, high quality product.

We are especially proud of our expertise in compound development, and molding over materials such as metal, plastics, and fiberglass. The molding of high voltage electrical products requires the complete elimination of voids and 100% bonding of the polymeric material to the other material. Failure to achieve this will result in dielectric failures if not immediately, in the long term.

Our recloser/switchgear product design team includes some of the most knowledgeable and experienced technical personnel in the industry.

Our Design Engineers work closely with Quality Assurance, Purchasing, and Manufacturing personnel to conduct prototype runs, process capability studies, qualification testing, and find cost effective, quality suppliers.

We utilize state of the art computer aided design (CAD) programs, such as Solid Works, to produce designs (both 2D and 3D). We have many years of tool (mold) design experience. We work with a number of tool makers for prototype and production tooling. We develop qualification and testing plans to insure the final product meets applicable industry standards and your exacting specifications and requirements.
